Dynamic QR codes
Dynamic QR codes
Updated: 2026-01-12
Dynamic QR codes are the core reason teams pay for DYQR.me.
Instead of encoding a final destination URL directly into a QR code, you publish a short link (stable) and control where it redirects to (editable). That means you can print a QR code once and keep improving the campaign without reprinting.
What you get
- Editable destination: update the target URL later while keeping the same QR code.
- Reliable redirects: designed for stable temporary redirects (302/307) when you want “direct link” behavior.
- Interstitial mode: route users to an interstitial page (
/l/:alias) with ads / CTA / countdown (useful for free plans or certain campaigns). - Safety checks: destination URLs can be checked with Google Safe Browsing before publishing.
Best for
- Restaurants updating menus without reprinting table stickers
- Stores running seasonal campaigns (Black Friday → Spring sale)
- Offline ads where you want measurable outcomes (posters, flyers, packaging)
Control & limits
DYQR.me supports link controls that can be used for marketing, security, or plan enforcement:
- Expiration time (e.g. only valid until a certain date)
- Max-click limits (e.g. first 1,000 clicks only)
- Password protection
Pricing note
Dynamic behavior is usually part of paid plans. If you are on a free plan, DYQR.me can still generate great QR codes, but some advanced controls (like removing watermark, custom aliases, or certain routing rules) are gated behind subscription entitlements.
Next steps
- Create a QR code on the homepage, then sign in to manage it in your dashboard.
